General Course Information and Notes
Version Description
Students refine techniques used to create a variety of two-dimensional (2-D) artworks through developing skills in drawing, painting, printmaking, and collage. Students manipulate the structural elements of art with increasing independence to promote creative risk-taking in 2-D artwork. Student artists use an art criticism process to evaluate, explain, and measure artistic growth in personal or group works. In tandem with their learning opportunities in 3-D Studio Art, they investigate careers in a wide variety of fields, including the visual and performing arts, guided by the competencies required by Florida Statute. This course incorporates hands-on activities and consumption of art materials.General Notes
Career and Education Planning - Per section 1003.4156, Florida Statutes, the Career and Education Planning course must result in a completed personalized academic and career plan for the student; must emphasize the importance of entrepreneurship skills; must emphasize technology or the application of technology in career fields; and, beginning in the 2014-2015 academic year, must provide information from the Department of Economic Opportunity’s economic security report as described in section 445.07, Florida Statutes.
