To Post or Not to Post?:

Using the case study, “Space, Media or Friends?,” students will learn about digital footprint and ways to use social media profiles safely, especially as it pertains to what they post and what others post about them. Students will brainstorm safe and unsafe social media content and role-play how to respond to a negative post. Finally, students will write a promise to themselves describing what they will not share about others on social media.

Honesty is the Best Policy:

Using the case study, “The Honesty Reward”, students will discuss the importance of having the courage to do the right thing even when it is difficult. Students will create personal narratives to demonstrate a time they may experience a challenge that forces them to do the right thing even when it is difficult.

How To Do What Is Right:

Using the case study, “What is the Right Thing to Do?” students will be defining what peer pressure and external influences means to them. They will use the problems of the characters in the case study to list solutions of how to positively deal with a peer pressure situation. Students will role-play each side of the situation to determine which is the right course of action. They will reflect and connect their learning to how they will respond to difficult moral and peer pressure situations in the future.

Family Creations through Interactions:

Using the case study, "Family Creations through Interactions," students will engage in discussion of how our attitudes affect our behavior. The case study is intended to show the connection between attitudes and behaviors. The students will work in a cooperative learning group to complete a summary graphic organizer and rewrite the case study as a narrative writing piece.

Discovering Responsible Decision Making and Goal Creating:

Using the case study, "Doing the Responsible Thing," students will evaluate the importance of making responsible decisions. They will work collaboratively to answer questions prompting their thinking about time management, how decisions can have positive and negative consequences, and how to make responsible decisions. Students will then create a calendar to help Paul from the case study to organize time to accomplish the goals he has for himself. They will then create goals for themselves with steps to help them achieve those goals.
