Where to Locate the Bus Stop.

The school principal wishes to locate a bus stop that serves a given set of students living on a road. The criterion for determining the location is to make the sum of distances traveled by all of the student riders as small as possible. The problem is to determine the best location for a given set of students and to determine a general rule.
