Students will work in groups to select 5-10 organisms, create a dichotomous key that could identify them, and a cladogram to show their evolutionary relationships.
This performance task requires groups to select 5- 10 organisms, analyze their characteristics thoroughly and develop a dichotomous key that others could use to identify them. They will then place these organisms in a cladogram.They will hand their project off to another group for them to recreate a cladogram after keying out the organisms. They will compare their finished product with the one originally produced and discuss with each other any differences they observed.
