Formative Assessment

Keep It Simple:

The student will revise his/her letter (from task LAFS.7.W.3.9b “Who’s Right?”), focusing on any wordiness and/or redundancy. The student will highlight all prepositional phrases in the letter and determine which ones he/she can delete without losing the meaning of the sentence. The student will then highlight in another color any repetitions of words and phrases. The student will consider ways to revise his/her highlighted words and phrases to communicate his/her argument in a more clear and concise manner.
