Using the case study, “Elevate Fitness Studio,” students will compare lifestyle factors that improve health and increase longevity. In small groups, students will research and evaluate the effectiveness of these factors and their impact on health.

Meal Planning: Multiple Factors Matter:

This is part 2 of a 2-part lesson plan based on comparing and contrasting the nutritional needs of different diets. Using the case study, “Balancing Act,” students will work collaboratively using previous research from lesson one to plan different dietary options for hypothetical clients based on the case study. Students will work collaboratively to combine their research and knowledge of nutrition to create a digital presentation representing their different meal/dietary plans for each client.

Using the case study, Hoops Vs. Habits, students will discuss and evaluate various methods that can be utilized to create a treatment plan for a client or patient. Students will need to identify and employ current medical research methods that correlate with lifestyle and habit factors. Once this is completed, a group of 2 or more students will create a digital brochure that explains a “new” or unique approach to consider lifestyle and health habits during program development.

Using the case study, "Building a Stronger Academy," students will discuss the importance of quality childcare at a daycare center. The students will collaborate to develop roles and responsibilities for the team members of the childcare center for the director to use when addressing the concerns and issues at a staff meeting.
