  • Rules and Rhythm in the Music Room:

    This is an introductory lesson to review or introduce the classroom rules with the students while making it more exciting by turning the rules into a chant. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to perform a rhythmic chant with a beat they can march to around the classroom, that contains all of their classroom rules, and they will be able to understand the importance of the rules in this integrated lesson plan.

  • See, Hear, and Play Instruments: This lesson provides endless ways to introduce instruments to the students along with their similarities/differences. The focus could be on just classroom instruments for the playing activities, but the discussions can include any possible instrument.

  • It's Time to Play the Barred Instruments: An Introduction for Kindergarten: Kindergarten students will discover how to perform with proper instrument technique on the classroom barred melodic percussion instruments.  

  • Can You Play a Steady Beat?: In this lesson students will accompany the song Che Che Koolay by performing a steady beat on a drum and participating in movement.
