The teacher will go over what these forms of political participation looked like in the colonial period compared to today. Students will take notes from the presentation on a graphic organizer provided to them with specific sections showing forms of political participation from today. This graphic organizer the students will then use to complete a poster during the small group work. |
Colonial Political Participation | Students will learn about the different forms of political participation during the colonial period through a PowerPoint presentation. Students will take notes from the presentation on a graphic organizer provided to them with specific sections, such as juries, militia service, election participation, and town meetings. The teacher will provide the graphic organizer to be used by the students to complete during direct instruction and later used when they complete the concept maps during small group instruction. The lesson will introduce and allow the students to participate in a class investigation about the different forms of political participation the colonial people were involved in. |
