This lesson provides endless ways to introduce instruments to the students along with their similarities/differences. The focus could be on just classroom instruments for the playing activities, but the discussions can include any possible instrument.

Husking of the Corn:

This song with PowerPoint, lead sheet, and instrumental play along recording is used to introduce and practice timbre/tone color.  Students will use unpitched percussion instruments and non-traditional sounds to create an accompaniment to the song "Husking of the Corn."  

Can You Play a Steady Beat?:

In this lesson students will accompany the song Che Che Koolay by performing a steady beat on a drum and participating in movement.  

Kindergarten- Dynamics:
