In this lesson for Out of Order: Stories from the History of the Supreme Court, students will review the research presented in the text to explain the roles of the Supreme and Lesser courts.

There are three lessons that can be used to complement a study of Out of Order: Stories from the History of the Supreme Court and allow students to take a new perspective by merging ELA skills with civics knowledge.

This is the third lesson in a three-part unit examining privacy, surveillance, and technology. In this lesson, students will create a digital presentation and present their information to the class discussing a current privacy concern related to technology.

Digital Accessibility and ADA Compliance:

Using the case study, "Susan Can't See Red," students will examine American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance and accessibility in digital media. They will review existing guidelines for people with accessibility challenges and consider how to develop content that is accessible to all.

Professionalism in the Workplace: A Training Guide:

Using the case study, "Training Day: The Importance of Professionalism in the Workplace," students will create a PPT to be used as a training guide for employees on how to be professional in the workplace.

Redeveloping Dated Treatments:

Using the case study, Hoops Vs. Habits, students will discuss and evaluate various methods that can be utilized to create a treatment plan for a client or patient. Students will need to identify and employ current medical research methods that correlate with lifestyle and habit factors. Once this is completed, a group of 2 or more students will create a digital brochure that explains a “new” or unique approach to consider lifestyle and health habits during program development.

Sharing Meal Planning and Budgeting Strategies With Families:

Using the case study, “Dining Out Dilemma: How to Meal Plan and Budget for Busy Families,” students will create a presentation that outlines meal planning, budgeting and comparative shopping strategies and tools, that families can use to save money.
