As part of a unit for Freedom Walkers: The Story of the Montgomery Bus Boycott, students will analyze the photographic text features in the text and write about how they represent the Jim Crow laws passed by some state and local governments in this integrated lesson plan.

Guiding Grids: Math inspired self-portraits:

Students will create a proportional self portrait from a photo using a gridded drawing method and learn how a grid system can help accurately enlarge an image in a work of art. Students will use the mathematical concepts of scale, proportion and ratio, to complete their artwork.

In examining American History from 1763 to 1815 students, working individually and collaboratively, research and create a proposed exhibit for the National Women’s History Museum.
