A Gift for Jen, Evaluating Forensic Evidence:

Using the case study, “A Gift for Jen: How reliable is an eyewitness?” (CPALMS resource ID#222126), students will identify and classify different types of forensic evidence found in the case study. Students will work in groups of 4 to research the appropriate use of the different types of evidence in identifying suspects. The students will complete a chart to classify and evaluate the evidence found in the case study. The students will discuss the evidence from the case study and determine if there is sufficient and reliable evidence to identify Bobby as the criminal and press charges against him for attempted armed robbery. Each group will prepare a digital presentation to share their decision and the reasons to press charges or not , supported by evidence.
