- Use tools to manipulate the midline of a sine or cosine graph (e.g., calculator, graphing software, coordinate grid, transparency).
- Understand that the midline is the horizontal center of the graph and it is often the x axis.
- Understand that adding or subtracting a constant to the trigonometric function will shift the function and its midline up or down. For example: y=sin(x)+2 shifts the midline and the graph up 2 units.
