What's the influence? Part 4:

Students will summarize and compare the contributions of Marcus Tullius Cicero, Marcus Aurelius, Pericles, Solon, and Cleisthenes to explain each person’s influence on civic participation and governance in the ancient world. Students will also explore how these leaders' ideas influenced modern day United States government.

Gather Data For Distribution by Programming an App:

This lesson allow students to gather, calculate, and plot data using both computer code and mathematical equations. In this lesson students will create a pedometer app to demonstrate the understanding of algorithms, components (such as buttons, textboxes, sensors, etc.), and If/Then statements. This lesson uses algebraic equations and random data to access the needed components to store data in a spreadsheet.

Exploring Technology Part 3: Planning Our Technology Prototype:

Students will engage in the planning process to sketch their technology prototype. After students complete their sketches, they will refine their ideas based on group discussions and peer feedback in this lesson.

Exploring Technology Part 4: Designing Our Technology Prototype:

In groups, students will engage in the design process. Using their sketches and planning from the previous lesson, they will create a 2D or 3D technology prototype using available digital tools and devices in this lesson.

Handling Inappropriate Online Communication:

Using the case study, “Using Online Tools to Communicate Appropriately," students will identify examples of inappropriate online communication in the workplace and propose ways to address them. Students will collaborate with a partner to create a digital product that lists effective communication strategies.

Leadership Part 3: Leaders- A Closer Look:

In groups, students will conduct additional online research and write a profile on the characteristics and responsibilities of two leaders. Students will design a slide for each leader’s profile to add to their leadership presentation in this lesson.
